Ag noooo,

The story is still not over.....

I was contacted last week by Lydia Ngoetjana from Telkom to enquire why we are not paying our Parktown office account. When I informed her that we ahve relocated offices and have terminated our Telkom account she was very surprised as according to her, it was in arrears and very much still active. I told her that Telkom has even colklected the Parktown PABX and the account is therefore for a service that we have no equipment for. The systems did not reflect that!

Well what can I say???? SO I have now passed on proof of canvcellation yet again...

My e-mail to her....

Dear Lydia,

Following your call, and SMS communication to me regarding our outstanding account for our previous Parktown office for the time that it was supposed to have been terminated. As you can see from the correspondance, Telkom should have been aware of the termination as Telkom has collected the leased equipment!!!!! I cannot comprehend that (yet again) nobody seems to know what is going on.

Please find included the proof of cancellation (see last few pages of included fax) which was done on the 26 of February 2010. It is shocking that Telkom's internal communication systems are so bad. Please give me feedback on how you are going to resolve this matter as I am surely going to have a cadensa if I have any further hassles with this.

Kind regards

Hi
I phoned you yesterday. You suggested iGoogole which I have been using. It is very interesting. I can not believe as an IT director of so many years. I did not know about it.

You indicated that you would send me more information. I hope this the best way to communicate with you.

OK I am glad to report that after Bruce almighty's efforts, everything is now working. The 4meg ADSL line still seems a bit slow to me, but at least we have internet! And Jd now does not have to go to Postnet to fax. So things are defintely looking up.

Does this mean that we are finally in the clear after Telkom put our lives on hold for more than a month?

Let's hope so!

Ag no, the adsl line went off on Friday evening which signalled that I can't work the weekend and according to my assistant it came and went and came and went throughout the weekend.

This morning I got another e-mail from Wikus telling me that an escalated order has been posted for another elf to visit me to sort the problem.

A brand new elf arrived fresh and hopeful. He has been send to do a complete install. This is quite amazing as I thought the line was already installed!! He was quite surprised to find a line here already. Eeesh.

He then reported about all the other elfs and their failure to perform to someone on the phone and dived underneath my table to see whats up. His name is Bruce and I sure hope he is Bruce almighty as we need an almighty effort to get this line to work properly!

OK I have been out of the office for this week and working on my dongle. NO sweat.

But the staff in the office had been groaning that the ADSL is still not working or working intermittantly and very super slow, unworkable.

A telkom guy apparently came out yesterday when I was not here to fix the fax line, and left saying that it was not his problem without doing anything. Bad elf, they did not get his name.

I spoke to Wikus and he yet again told me that he will follow up....

But I thought I will bug the ADSL lot as Wikus does not seem to get much action happening- his elfs does not come through for him. So I phoned the ADSL support desk and hold on to your chairs- the lady there assured me that I do not have an ADSL line????

So here is yet another email to Wikus (just for the record):

Hi Wikus,

Really, this is waaaaay beyond funny any more. I phoned the Adsl support line at 0800375375 this morning to try and find out why the line is intermittant and when it works it either does not let data through or is terribly slow- basically unworkable, and guess what?

Annelie (the support desk person) assured me that my line has not been made into a ADSL line according to her system. WTF? I told her that both you and Trevor the Adsl line person has assured me that the line is operational and she said that is impossable. I feel like I am in cookoo land.

I am now actually worse off than I was before. My 55 line (that was working as it was my old line) is now in the switchboard and I now just have my MTN dongle. I have to still send my faxes from Postnet.

Shocking. Shocking. And it is going to be interesting to see if Telkom charge me for all this non existant services that I have been receiving.

The new escalated reference number is 000100976.

I dont believe in Santa any more.

Ag no the Dawie elf just informed me that the new 45 line line is faulty under the ground. Must say it did sound pretty dead to me all along. So is it EVER going to see the light of day???

So the problem has now been passed on to another elf.

OK another elf has arrived. Must say Santa is dedicating a lot of elfs to my cause this week......

HIs name is Dawie and he was send with order nu ber in hand to resove the non (never) working new 45 number. When I ask him if he can move the 55 number into the PABX seeing hat my dataline is now working (dont know for how long and if I am allowed to admit that it is now working), he assured me that he does not ahve an order number for that. But he did take pity on me as I was about to do an explode jobbie again and he then inserted it into the PABX - 55 is now working but now I officially do not have a fax any more as the new line's voice part is still not working.

Wikus after a few updates... assures me that elf Trevor will come back to sort out the remaining 46 problem out today still.

Progress so far:
56 working
46 data part working, voice part not
55 working and now back in the switchboard
45 not working Dawie working on it

I am so glad thismonth is over...... or is it?
